The exhibition celebrates both Beckett’s legacy and the contemporary voices of Irish art.
In the Midst of Nothingness, draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s time in Berlin from 1936 to 1937. The exhibition’s theme revolves around Beckett’s encounter with Caspar David Friedrich’s painting, “Two Men Contemplating the Moon,” which left a lasting impression and influenced the set design for his play, “Waiting for Godot.” This group exhibition features the work of eight award-winning Irish artists who will infuse their personal experiences of both Berlin and Beckett’s oeuvre into their pieces.
